Ambition of the Slimes Mini Guide

Update (1/13/2015): Feel free to read below for tips and the slime guide, but as of yesterday the developer has implemented English support. I think I'm ready to declare "mission accomplished" and cease updating, as the main goal of this guide was to allow non-Japanese-speakers to give the game a whirl. I hope it served its purpose!

Touch Arcade reported recently on an interesting-looking tactics game currently out for iOS. Strangely, it's available in the US app store, but is almost entirely in Japanese. Finally a chance to put these language skills to use? First a few words about the game, and then a quick and dirty guide for those who may want to give it a shot without entirely understanding everything.

Ambition of the Slimes(iOS/Google Play(スライムの野望) is free to play, though it does offer some IAP in the form of items. Ads run in the upper corner of the screen, but there doesn't seem to be any way to pay to remove them. they can be disabled. See the section on that below.

The premise of the game is that you control a group of slimes that are rising up against the humans, who have conquered the world and brought it to the brink of ruin. Humans attack slimes without provocation. Now, it seems, is the time for payback.

Slimes are weak as poo. When they level up, they gain very modest increases to HP, attack, and defense, but at least insofar as I've played, those numbers are never significant. They can usually only withstand an attack or two before keeling over, and deal insignificant damage.

The slimes have discovered, however, that they can take over the bodies of humans. They do so by leaping down people's throats and commandeering the unfortunate meatbags.

There are many different kinds of slimes, each with a different ability. There are also 3 different elemental types, and every unit has one. Water beats Fire, Fire beats Grass, Grass beats Water.

Deciding which units to enslave, how to properly move and position your units, and what slimes/abilities to use seem to be the cruces of playing Ambition.

For those who would like to give it a whirl without knowing Japanese, on to the useful graphics!

1. Getting Started

Here we have a basic game menu. Functional.

2. Slime Basics

Here are the basic stats for each slime. I think everything is pretty self explanatory except for "Fatigue." According to my research, this goes up as you use a slime. It will increase quicker as they reach higher levels. 0-99 fatigue have no effect, but once it reaches 100, the slime is too tired to attack. Fatigue seems to decrease over (real) time, by itself.

You can check out all your units from the game menu and rearrange them for your viewing pleasure.

3. World Map

Starting with a tutorial, you'll advance throughout several maps and take the fight to the humans. Each area brings up a screen like the one above. The important-to-note items here are the battle difficult at the top, expressed in stars; the enemy units; what slimes may join you if you win; the difficulty setting (normal or challenge); and the number of slimes you can deploy. One additional note about the difficulty setting - there are different levels of challenge that you can unlock as you beat the stage on easier settings. Harder battles offer better chances of awesome slime allies.

4. Battle

When you start a map, here are the (mostly) relevant items you'll see.

Excuse me for the crazy differences in image resolution. As I said, "quick and dirty."

Units that you take over will gain red eyes and a sick glow.

Just to give you an idea, yes, they literally do jump down people's throats. As pictured above.

Another fact to note - there are two advantages to be considered when picking your battles and positioning. Higher ground means less damage taken and more dished out. Type advantage translates similarly. And yes, you can have both a height and type advantage at the same time. Tons of damage.

A few other things I've learned so far:

- If a slime or its host dies in battle, it will "revive" when the fight is over. It won't gain as much exp, though.

- Slime abilities can be pretty useful. The worm-looking guy can cast "speed" - a buff that increases the target's max movement by one tile. The starting blue slime can cast "slow" and the little red dude has a better chance of commandeering difficult-to-enslave humans.

- Some humans are harder to take over than others. There are armor-clad knights which effectively can't be taken over unless you debuff them first with goo or break their armor. Bosses also appear to be especially difficult to capture.

- If you commandeer a human with the same element type as the slime you're using, the human you gain will receive a stat boost.

- You normally (with a couple of exceptions noted further below) don't keep any humans that you take over. I guess the slimes must make them jump off a cliff or something once the battle's finished...

- I forgot to note that the little yellow flags on some tiles indicate regeneration points. If you stick a unit on one of these spaces, at the beginning of their next turn they'll regain some HP (and certain spells/abilities will be recharged too, it appears). These are pretty important!

- Note that humans you possess who are in their underwear or naked can charm ("seduce") enemies of the opposite gender.

5. More Tips and Tricks:

1. Later on in the game you will get a slime "ヘルメス" (Hermes?!), whose special ability is to keep the human you took over for 1 battle. This means that if you take over an archer's body as ヘルメス (and stayed alive until you won the battle), you will have an archer replacing your ヘルメス within your units at your disposal. The archer's level does not show there because it will change depending on the difficulty of the next battle you bring your archer into (scales with enemys' level).

2. Fatigue does in fact decrease over time. However it is painfully slow, so I'd recommend grabbing a 2nd one if you find a slime that is useful (ワープスライム Warp Slime is a great example, sometimes you need two of them in the same battle anyways) so you can distribute the fatigue count. (Paul: This is a great tip about collecting more than one of a certain type. In fact I've been trying to grind out a second Warp Slime for a while now. =p)

3. During battle, on the bottom left side of the screen you can tap and go through different pages of information. One of the page shows the stats of the unit, and the probability of you enslaving that unit. They give you very useful information in terms of deciding who to take over, and also who to avoid. (If it says のっとり:000% then don't even bother trying) (Paul: An addendum to this is that the little red slime you start with has a somewhat improved chance of capturing some units. This is not reflected in the info displayed here - you have to actually select the のっとり option to see the % chance for them).

6. Slimes and Abilities

Here's a list of slimes and their specials. I'll be adding more as I collect them all. The translations, especially of their names, are approximate and may contain additional notes.

 Little Slimey
Ability: Slow - reduces an enemy's movement by one tile.

Carrot
Ability:  Take Over Up - has a somewhat better chance to commander moderately difficult to take over enemies.

Speed Slime
Ability: Speed - increases an ally's movement by one tile.

Warp Slime
Ability: Warp - can move anywhere on the map.

Melty
Ability: Melt - dissolves an enemy's equipment. The enemy then becomes easy to enslave. (Note: Melt lasts for 3 turns, and then the enemies return to their normal state, enslaved or not. Humans you take over who are still in their underwear can charm enemies of the opposite gender.

Attack Slime
Ability: Attack Up - enslaved enemy receives increased attack power. (Note: These guys also get more attack power than other slimes as they level. I still wouldn't recommend using them to fight, but in a pinch they can do a little damage).

Teleport Slime
Ability: Teleport - can teleport an ally to any tile on the map.

Reach Slime
Ability: Range Up - if used to enslave a ranged unit, extends attack range by one tile.

Guard Slime
Ability: Defense Up - enslaved enemy receives increased attack power. (Note: These slimes get a bit more defense than other slimes. Still can't take a ton of damage, but if you need to spread out some punishment you might be safer letting this guy take a hit rather than most of your other slimes).

Anti-Magic Slime
Ability: Magic Defense Up - enslaved enemy receives increased magic defense.

Winged Slime
Ability: Flying - this guy may not actually have wings, but he can fly. (Note: These slimes can travel over water and ignore the height of terrain).

Magic Slime
Ability: Magic Up - enslaved enemy receives increased magic attack.

Pervy Slime
Ability: Pervy - if enslaved enemy is a female, they gain a large combat bonus. If said female is in her underwear or naked, she gets an even larger combat bonus.

Super Melty
Ability: Super Melt - dissolves all of an enemy's equipment, rendering them naked. The enemy then becomes easier to enslave. (Note: Super Melt lasts for 3 turns, and then the enemies return to their normal state, enslaved or not. Humans you take over who are still in naked can charm enemies of the opposite gender).

Hermes
Ability: Carry Over - can carry over an enslaved unit to the next battle. The carried over unit can only be used once.

Metal Slime
Ability: Metal - has high defense. Additionally, enemies prioritize attacking these slimes.

Guts Slime
Ability: Resurrection - if enslaved enemy is slain, this slime revives. Works only once per battle.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Phoenix
Ability: Resurrection - if enslaved enemy is slain, this slime revives. Works an unlimited number of times.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Sticky
Ability: Sticky - binds an enemy and grants a 100% chance to take over almost any foe.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Wizard Slime
Ability: 0 Magic Consumption - enslaved enemy can use magic spells an unlimited number of times.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Goddess' Hand*
Ability: Split - if damaged by an enemy, this slime will split into two. Works only once.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Super Hermes
Ability: Carry Over x3 - can carry over an enslaved unit to the next three battles.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Rider
Ability: Take over UP -  can take over enemies that are pretty difficult to enslave.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Super Goddess' Hand**
Ability: Split x2 - if damaged by an enemy, this slime will split into two. The resulting slimes can split once more.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Neo Teleporter
Ability: Teleport - can teleport an ally to any tile on the map, three times.
(Thanks to 1z2x3c for the cap!)

Sun Slime
Ability: Sun - Has the special sun attribute, which trumps the others (I'm not sure if this carriers over to enslaved units, unlike with other slimes).
(Thanks to floppee for sending this one in!)

 Invisible
(Thanks to RainZ for sending this one in!)

Irregular
(Thanks to RainZ for sending this one in!)

7. Items/Ad-Free Version

Those pesky ads in the upper right corner of the battle screen can be turned off after one purchases an item. Here's how to do so:

1. First tap "Shop" from the Main Menu.

2. Buy an item. The top one is energy recovery medicine - it resets a slime's fatigue to 0. They come in sets of 5 ($0.99), 15 ($1.99), and 30 ($2.99). The bottom item lets you increase the amount of deployed slimes by 1. Use this item on the slime select screen before the battle begins. These come in sets of 3 ($0.99).

As of 2.0, there are three items for sale - fatigue recovery medicine, deployment +1, and slime boxes.

When you've selected an item, the App Store should prompt you to enter your password to confirm the purchase.

3. Go back to the Main Menu and select "Options." You'll then see the screen below. Select the first choice with the gear icon, which is "Settings."

4. Here you can disable the background music and sound effects, or turn off the ad banners. You can also switch to "Fast Mode," which makes turns go by quicker. Recommended. The last option lets you disable the ads, and the "OFF" selection is grayed out until you purchase an item.

Once you've done that, your game should be ad-free!

8. Gems

Version 2.0 added a new feature - gems. I haven't play around to test these out, but the translations for each gem are below. Sounds straightforward enough.

If anyone has any requests for more info - additional slime abilities or elsewise, feel free to let me know and I can expand this guide. Also submit any tips, tricks, or corrections you'd like to share in the comments below.

Change/Update log:

Update: Changed "Plant" to "Grass" (the kanji is 草, so "grass" is perhaps more literal).

Update: I shared the link to this mini guide with Altair Works, the game developers for Ambition, and they added it to their App Store and Google Play app descriptions! So "welcome" to anyone stopping by from those pages.

Update: Added Slimes and Abilities section. If you'd like to contribute, feel free to leave a comment and/or email me the slime screenshot at blueshoe[at]jadij.com.

Update (10/29/2014): Tweeted a little bit with developer @Altairworks, and they told me that purchasing any item allows one to disable the ads. I'm adding a short section to address that.

Update: (11/17/2014): Reader 1z2x3c sent me screencaps of the last of the slimes and I've added them, so they should all be listed here now.

Update (1/12/2015): Updated the screenshots for the Main Menu, Shop, and Settings pages. Added "Gems" section. Added a note about "Fast Mode" in Settings.

Update (1/13/2015): It looks like the developer is working on has released English support, so stay tuned for that

Update (2/20/2015): I know I said no more updates, but reader floppee sent me in another slime to add to the guide. So, Sun Slime added.

Update (8/4/2015): A submission from commenter RainZ, adding two new slimes.

* The translation for the name of this slime is not straightforward. See here for more details.
** Before you send me an email about the translation on this one being kind of made up, I named it so because I feel like this name makes more sense in the context of the localization choice I made for the related slime.

  1. Nice guide! Hopefully this will help many users.
Just a few things I want to touch on:
    1. Later on in the game you will get a slime "ヘルメス" (Hermes?!), whose special ability is to keep the human you took over for 1 battle. I'm glad this is getting attention among the English community as well, and keep up the great work with the guide!

    2. "An addendum to this is that the little red slime you start with has a somewhat improved chance of capturing some units."
OMG is that what のっとり↑ means!? I have ignored the red slime because I thought it was useless XD
Now I might actually have a plan to finish the first run through
I am 1 stage away from finishing all the stages in normal difficulty for like 3 days already (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

      Delete
    3. Yup, のっとり means to take over. The little red guy's description says:

      ややのっとりにくい敵も、すばやい動きでのっとることができるスライム。

That means something like: "With its nimble movement, this slime can commandeer even moderately difficult to take over enemies."

Glad this info was helpful for you! Good luck in finishing your runthrough. =)

    4. I didn't understand ややの and すばやい, which is probably the most important words within the description XD
Thanks for the translation, learned a lot.
And I finally beat the first runthrough :'D (with the help of the red slime)

I feel rather stupid now .__.

    5. Awesome! Nah, don't feel stupid. Easy to miss small elements like that that can become important.

    2. I think I'll add a new section that lists the slimes and their abilities, if that might help.

      Delete
    3. I'm sure that will help a lot for most people. Even though I can read some of the slime's description it still took me some time to figure out what it actually does.

I can help if you need but I haven't fully complete the game / discover all the slime species...
(Oh that anonymous was me, back then I haven't figured out how to add a name while commenting but I was really excited to see others playing the game as well so I commented anyway XD)

    4. Thanks, 1z! I haven't finished either, but I'll post what I have within the next day or two. If you've collected any that I've missed, feel free to fill in the gaps. =)

    5. This new update almost sums up all the slimes I see in the game, some only seen in the challenger mode.
And right now I'm kinda stuck at the church level (3rd map 5th level) I'm probably either using the wrong slimes or underlevel badly.

      Delete
    6. Glad to be of help! Yes, the Church level is a bit tricky. Actually after losing a couple of times I decided to use the magic resist slime. Probably didn't hurt, but turns out I didn't need him; kiting properly and making the boss use up her spells without hitting multiple units is one way to win. Unfortunately the proper kiting was more luck than intentional. =P

    7. I usually got killed by the physical one lol.

    8. I assume you are talking about the female monk(武道家)
The way I dealt with her is to use メルメル (Melty) and simply take over her body. She can tank quite a few hits from the bosses if you manage to get a healer and keep healing her.

      Delete
    9. Yeah, I got it. Time for the 4th map, thx for the tip about kiting :-)

      Delete
    10. It's getting harder, and the stat boost using pervy slime isn't that much good anyway. Unless I missed something.

      Delete
    11. Yeah, I'm slowly making my way to the end, but it is pretty difficult. I haven't used the pervy slime very much. It may be good for some strategies (maybe?) but I feel like it's usually too much of a pain to get him near a fire-element woman who's been derobed. And without the added element bonus, it's probably not really worth it..

      Delete
    12. map 4 is more about luring enemies to the right place, can't just charge in with slimes, control a few and hope for the best
The way I played the first battle in map 4 is to use a wrap slime and teleport to other side of the map so it lures some of the enemy away and buy you some time setting up for the battle

      Delete
  3. Some maps definately needs two throw slime / warp slime to work.
Sad thing is i barely able to get the 2nd one due to the chances to get and difficulty of the challenge map.

    1. Hey there - yep, I'd definitely like to update! I've been grinding a bit to try and get some of the other slimes, but unfortunately the Random Number God hasn't been kind. If you'd like to shoot me an email with the screenshots, that'd be awesome. Thank you, sir!

  5. 1 thing that occurred to me... I'm thinking there should be a way to view your level-upgrades for your slime in the menus rather than only inside combat, but my japanese is too broken to ask the author/developer.
I'd make a list for them and put it here to share, but then there's no way for me to view them. The level-upgrades are irregular as well making it almost impossible to keep track with (i.e. some of the slimes have upgrades at lvl 10 or 16, some even have to wait until lvl 25; There are also different upgrades such as +1 movement or +1 ability usage)
I have no clue how to say this in japanese so I'm wondering if you can help me out.

    1. That's a good question! But I'm not sure I follow you entirely. Are you referring to the number of ability uses? Like how the Speed Slime gets an extra use of his ability (forget at what level - 10, maybe?)? That is reflected in battle and unfortunately not in the menu, as you pointed out. But other stat upgrades, like additional health, movement, or defense, etc- I think those numbers are reflected in the stats displayed in the menu.

Shall we ask him if there's some kind of leveling chart available? Or if there's some way to tell from the menu about the stat upgrades?

      Delete
    2. Ya that's what I mean. And yes my mistake, the increased stats are shown in the menu. (and ya i think speed slime gets its ability upgrade at lv10 ( ´∀`)
I am not sure how to phrase the question too, but Im pretty sure you got my idea. I also thought of having a chart as well XD I guess your first question is kinda like a possible solution to the second question~

      Delete
    3. Hmmm...yeah, I think you're right. We'd probably need to make a chart if we wanted to see each slime's progression, and I'm not sure I have the time for that right now. =P Would definitely be useful, though.

      Delete
    4. Ya I do not have the time for that as well thats why I thought of contacting the developer but I don't know how lol

    5. Ok, I've tweeted him - will let you know what he says!

      Delete
    6. https://twitter.com/altairworks/status/535668490246422528

He basically said that they're "hidden bonuses" so there's no chart or anything for them. I guess he purposefully made the bonuses kind of scattered and difficult to take into account.

    7. thanks for the update.
kinda sucks that you can't keep track of the ones even yo unlocked, but oh well

iirc my 2 neo teleport slimes have the same stat bonus at the same level

    2. Hey RainZ, thanks for stopping by and for the info. I noticed the update to the game the other day, and I've taken some screenshots of the new item and gems so I can update the guide when I have a little more time. I'll check out the deal with the naked unit abilities, too - thanks for the tip!

      Delete
    3. Already tried it, the naked unit's ability, it's basically same as charm but last for 5 turns instead of 3, i also noticed you missed one slime which is the blue coloured pervy slime, instead of gaining bonus taking over female, the blue coloured one gain bonus on male victims.

I am still stuck at the 3rd area, map like a mountain in the middle and lots of cannon unit.

      Delete
    4. The blue pervy slime does not gain bonus from male victims. Its just a water type pervy that gains bonus stats from female victims as well, but also having the "melt" ability just like melty, and also it does NOT gain extra bonus stats from taking over nude female victims.

      Delete
    5. Ah i never knew that, didn't really try to take that slime, my bad.

    6. Hey guys - sorry for being AWOL. I'll try to update this soon! And RainZ - I actually never made it past that level either. =P

      Delete
    7. You need two warp slimes and two flyers for this level. I also used a teleport slime and a guts slime to finish the 6.

Put the two flyers next to each other so that on the same turn they can charge forward and cap the two artillery at the bottom level of the fort. On that same turn, use your warp slimes to cap the two cannons on the 2nd level of the fort, then teleport your 6th slime next to the cannon on the 'right' side of the fort (the one that isn't right next to a sword). If you cap all 5 cannons on the same turn, usually 4 survive to the next turn and you can blow up everyone on the fort (try to move them to higher elevation). The sword + cannon + armor that's next to each other on the 'left' side don't aggro unless you take a shot at them.

    8. I've already passed that level 2 days ago, thanks anyway.

Now i'm thinkibg of how to pass the capital level.

    1. Yeah, that one is tough. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think you may need to bring in a tougher unit or two with Hermes slime(s).

      Delete
    2. i don't think they have hermes by that time.

      Delete
    3. Yeah we don't. I brought attack, carrot, warp, speed and teleport slime

      Delete
    4. You need 1 warp slime, 1 carrot, 1 melty, rest don't matter (2nd warp slime is useful, or a speed).

Send the warp slime to the bottom (away from the shops) corner. Use it to lure the knight + magician + swords on that side - just keep kiting the knight and keep those 3 away from the others. Put the other slimes in a corner and wait. After like two or three turns, the priest + martial + magician on the other side (near the shops) will begin to advance. Let them get close, then take the magician with a spare slime and the martial with the carrot slime. Keep the melty alive, use the magician + martial to kill all the units that aren't camping in the castle. Keep using the warp slime to kite the swords + magician until you're ready to kill them.

after that, bait out the sorceress by putting someone 5 units in front of her(use someone with the resist element so they survive the hit). Once the sorceress is aggro all the units on the castle will begin advancing - melt the sorceress (the melty will usually get killed by the golem right after) and cap her with your other spare slime, use the warp slime to cap either the priestess or the magician on the castle, and clean up.

    1. My solution to Normal difficulty of Republic capital:
Teleporting a Melty and a SuperMelty to the northwestern building's rooftop allowed me dissolve both the Ninja and Kunoichi (female Ninja) on the first turn. Also on the first turn, I used a couple of Warp slimes to take over the two nearby Artillery. The captured Artillery on the ground was quickly defeated but using the one already on the rooftop, I held off the one Galicia armor guarding the nearby flag just long enough to take over both Ninjas and utilize the naked female Ninja's Temptation ability on said armor. Thankfully, the other G-armors became distracted by the Teleport slimes left at the start, so I used that time to destroy the "tempted" G-armor, before the spell on him wore off. From this point, I made sure to reload the surviving Artillery and heal up everyone before the G-armors returned and position the Ninjas along the edge of the roof, so they could attack without being countered. Also worth noting; when taking over the Ninjas, I made sure to match SuperMelty with the female Ninja (both fire elementals) and regular Melty with the male (both grass/plant/earth). Thanks to this, I believe, the rest of the round went fairly smoothly; exploiting weaknesses when appropriate and maximizing Artillery strikes whenever possible. Once all the amors were gone, I used the female Ninja to get the attention of the remaining enemy Artillery, then immediately retreated back to the rooftop where my fully reloaded Artillery could strike without return fire, thanks to great difference in height. The rest of the Swords+Knight soon followed and were easily defeated; without the use of healing/replenishing flags. Again, the fact that the Ninjas were glowing seems like it made the end game that much easier.

I hope this strategy can help you.

    2. Wow, thanks for the strat, Anon! I'll have to give it a shot sometime soon.

    3. Finally beat that level with your strat. You have no idea how long I've been stuck there... Have a smiley as thanks :-)

  10. Is anyone able to communicate with the developer of this game?
It seems there is an bug/glitch/error when leveling up Super Hermes.
Instead of upgrading the MaxCarryOverUnit from x3 to x4,
it is effectively reduced to one (1), making it worse than regular Hermes... :(

    1. I just reached that place as well, trying to figure it out at the moment.

    2. Alright, beat that level, just take control of the upper left corner and try to take over the two knights at the top middle part, use those knights to tank while using the gunner and mage to destory the possessed enemy, after clearing them, take advantage of the high ground and slowly burst the lower ground.

First teleport the pervy to take over the female gunner, it's fire element so the power boost by a lot, giving you a better long range burst. Than have the two warp slime take over the mage and knight, use the remaining teleport slime and teleport the sticky to spray on the gal armor, your knight should be able to tank the following blow and cover your sticky slime. On the next turn, teleport the carrot (or rider if you have it) and take over the gal armor( since im using carrot, i force restart a multiple time for it to work, if you have rider it's 100% on sticky condition)

After that, take advantage of the flag and tank + recover your tankers and slowly burst all the nearby enemies, priorities the two possessed enemy as it burst your tank very quickly.

I use two teleport slime (i don't have neo) two warp, a sticky, carrot and pervy.

For me now i think the volcano is going to take some time.

    3. Thanks for the strategy, finally beat the fortress. Never tried to take over the gal armor.
I thought the volcano was a lot easier than the fort, won it on the first try even though I screwed up :v

    5. I forget exactly how I did it, but I brought 2x teleport, 2x warp, melty and super melty. I sent everything to the right corner (with the sorcerer) and took the gunner and sorcerer right away. On the second turn you can teleport one of the two teleport slimes in and take a swords or whatever. The units in the other corner didn't attack until I moved something in range.
The units can't move the same turn as they use that take over ability, so you get a turn to focus whoever got taken over before they attack you.

    6. Got it, but instead if using the two melty, which probably dies after melt, i use the following units.

      Teleport slime x2
      Warp slime x2
      Pervy slime x1
      Hermes slime (Elizabeth) x1

By using the thief boss, she can withstood some attacks and also able to strip x3 times.

I also used her to stop some enemy movement, also rob off high defense enemy so i could nuke them in one go.

She is a good crowd control unit.

    7. Nice! I gave up some time ago, but glad to see someone is figuring out how to beat these maps.

      Delete
    8. I also just realize Elizabeth able to strip some enemies that seems to impossible to melt using melty slimes.

    9. New continent hasn't been too hard, but Valoi castle might take me some time.

    10. I used almost the same strategy though, by using Elizebeth.

Get into some strong attacker and some spearman/women, lure those enemies one by one, I took over all the enemies on the bottom left side with the the gunner, use super melty on tge spearwomen on the right after lure her closer and capture her with pervy, for the stat boost to keep her alive, than charm either one of the monk or knight, disable, get elizebeth close but not too close, and get near to strip the possessed valoi knight, free dmg for 3 turn.

After that do the same on the other side of the king's entrance, just strip the possessed knights and it'll be super easy to win against them.

The king is super easy with his very low stats.

      Good luck.

  15. could somebody please make a clearer guide for magic city. It's too hard

    1. You mean the lancaster city? I'm stuck there as well, the 2 dragon knights are too strong, and I can't take over most units and being killed in the process.

    2. I beat Lancaster city, might have been easy mode though. I killed everything on the lower rooftop, and then brought them around to take the big rooftop. I think I teleported a gunner onto the very highest spot. Dragon knights weren't too bad, I split them up by luring one with a used teleport slime and then attacked with height advantage. Of course I'm stuck on the very next level, I'm bad at killing sages.

Magic city on stage 2 is tricky, you want to bait the guys on the right with a warp slime while you take the martial and magician. Don't move out of your spawn, just wait for them to attack you. Kill everything outside the castle with the martial and magician, then heal everything and let the sorcerer attack the martial. Melt and take the sorcerer, and take something with your warp slime. Kill the golem with the sorcerer or magician, whichever has type advantage.

  16. I beat lancaster forest on easy, and the entire map. Im having real trouble with the sages, especially if there are 2 or more of them. Anyone got a strategy for them? Especially in the tower of witches?

    Also, i discovered the ff:
-Valoi King's ability, order of the king, only lasts 1 turn
-when a hermes takes over an underwear/naked, the unit stays that way for the succeeding battle and doesnt go back to original unit. Best to use sticky than melt

    ReplyDelete
  17. Finished the tower of witches on easy!
    My party:
    2 teleporters
2 that can immobilize sages (i used thief boss and sticky)
1 goddess hand with sun attribute
    1 anti-magic slime

    How i did it:
    - started the 1st round doing nothing to lure the sages away from other enemies
-teleported the goddess hand to the female sage and attacked the male near her; teleported the thief boss to the other male sage and used steal (make sure she's not in range of the mage below)
-sages will target goddess hand but since it has sun attribute, they can easily kill the sage in 1-2 turns; teleport the other sticky/ melty to immobilize the other sage and use goddess hand and others to kill off the sages
    - now that there are no pesky sages to deal with, i targeted the 2 swords and magr on the lowest side (you can do whatever you want with them) and worked my way up from there (don't forget to heal on the flags if needed)

    More stuff i found out:
    - thief boss's steal will stack up on an enemy and the 2nd one will make them naked (not sure what the diff fascination and temptation is yet)
-sticky will also stack up on an enemy if you need extra turns in immobilizing them
-sages wont be taken over even if naked/underwear/sticky BUT they can easily be killed even with slimes:
    Up/advantage attribute- 3 damage
    Same attribute- 2 damage
    Down/disadvantage attribute: 1 damage
    - Thief boss/Isabela is the only boss that can be taken over afaik; other bosses like Belarus can only have a 1% chance of being taken over with sticky status

    1. How did you beat Oasis challenge on new continent? Didn't have much trouble with the others but those cannons are a problem.

      Delete
    2. I used a warp slime to bait them to the left side of the starting point while moving my slimes and taking everyone there first. Depends on the party, but you can use a melty/sticky/thief boss to stop the two canons if you have a teleporter. Otherwise, sacrifice a few units to let them use up their attack while blocking them from the flag

      Delete
  18. Finally found out the difference between underwear and naked. Naked's temptation charms the enemy for 5 turns instead of underwear's fascination which takes 3 turns.
Also, the encyclopedia gets updated with pics of units that have been in underwear/naked too

Sharing how i beat the other areas:

Into the deep forest (easy mode)
    Party:
    Isabella
    Sticky
    2 teleport slimes
    Goddess Hand
    Warp Slime

    - don't worry about the asmodians, they'll get killed before the battle starts
    - the humans in this stage and the next 2 ones can't be charmed (bribe, king's orders, fascination, venus flytrap, temptation), but can be melted/stickied/slowed/steal and taken over as their normal counterparts
-I started targeting the side with the armor, valoi armor and artillery first. you can do what you want with them and the other enemies will move towards you and deal with them as you wish, technically that's it.

Grand Hall of the Cave (normal)
I forgot to play it on easy but it turns out this stage is doable on normal mode.
    Party:
    Isabella
    Goddess Hand
    Sticky
    2 teleport slime
    Invalidation (or any)

    - use the goddess hand or Isabela to bait the knight towards you, then take him over
    - next, bait the witch and the other 2 humans, take them over and kill the witch (you might need to use sticky for her)
    - heal first before baiting the next set of humans/witch and take over/kill the witch/kill other humans
    - heal first before finally baiting and going for the dragon knight and the last group of humans

Now currently stuck on the last stage since the hollow slimes CAN take over your own units and shoving your slime out of the human you took over. it's really annoying.
